I returned from Texas yesterday. I was there eleven days talking photos. I'm already wanting to go out and look for more photo opportunities. I'm always on a quest to take an exquisitely, beautiful photo.
It takes courage- to get the shot. Although I was following the "Texas Birding and Butterfly" map of the Rio Grande, I was told by the border patrol to leave an area- it wasn't safe. Most of the time I was driving along the US-Mexican border in rural areas. Often I was not sure where I would arrive, but most often I arrived at state parks and wildlife refuges where the people were nice and the birds interesting. I would definitely recommend the Rio Grande Valley of Texas for bird photography.
