Red Knot April 8, 2024

I saw photos of a shorebird called a Red-Knot- they were taken during spring migration along the east coast of the USA. The birds displayed their breeding plumage-a reddish-brown color. I wanted to see these birds and take photos of them. Last year, in March, I went to Kiawah Island in South Carolina to find the birds. Although, I saw a flock of them on the beach, the breeding colors weren't prominent. This year, I planned a trip to Fort de Soto , Florida in April. I went to the park early on Monday morning (April 8, 2024). There was only a few people on the beach, and birds were everywhere. Some were Red-Knots with a rich reddish-brown color. I got low and took many photos of them, front lit in the early morning light. A dream realized - a triumph. Such a good feeling.
