In the fall and early winter after the roadside weeds have turned brownish-yellow and it has snowed, I like to look for snow buntings. The brown, tan and white colors of the snow buntings match the surroundings and create a pleasing aesthetic. I would like to get a photo of them flying with the colors of the background in the photo. This is hard to do; they are small and fly fast. I was standing on the side of the road watching the snow buntings, when a car drove past and flushed them up into the trees. I stood still. They soon flew back and landed not too far from me. When they saw me, they flew away- except one. I quickly took photos of it while it looked back at me. Not my dream shot, but a good one.
