There was a full moon over the Hennepin Ave. bridge Monday morning (2/22/16). At 0530, it was still very dark, and I walked onto the Central Ave. bridge- I saw the moon, saw the pale, orange clouds surrounding it, and thought how fortunate I was to be there at that time. I took one five second
exposure. The moon was white because it was so overexposed. Next, I took three bracketed exposures, used the in camera HDR processing, and still
was not happy with the results. Excitement turned to disappointment. Not one to give up so easily, I merged the three exposures with Photomatix
exposure fusion for night time photography- still not satisfied. The next full moon, March, 23, I will be out there again, trying, working to get a full
moon shot over the city of Minneapolis. There is so much to know, so much experimenting to do; photography will keep me busy for years to come.
